It’s just about Polar Plunge time.
Activities will be Saturday morning. Once again, the big fundraiser for local and statewide Special Olympics will be at Mouse Lake. On KVOE’s Morning Show on Tuesday, organizer Shelley Lutes said she is both excited and jittery heading into the fundraiser.
Organizer Meredith Wagner says it’s a fun event for all involved.
Activities will start with a fundraising biscuits and gravy breakfast, as well as offsite registration, at Stingers from 8:30-11 am. Costume judging will be at Mouse Lake starting at 11:15 am, with the actual plunge at 11:30 and the Pluck-a-Duck winner drawn once plunging ends.
Temperatures will be relatively mild in the 30s, but other conditions may not be — windy with a chance of rain changing to a wintry mix before snowfall later in the day.
There is still time to register as an individual or team. Cost is $100 per person, with more information available at plungeks.org. Pluck-a-Duck raffle options are still available at $5 a duck or $20 for the five-duck Quack Pack.
