Another week, another update on Emporia’s 24th and Prairie wateline replacement project.
The city’s contractor is tentatively set to begin connecting an existing 10-inch water main in 24th that feeds Greenbriar Estates and the Four Seasons apartment complex to the new 24-inch main in Prairie Street. The process begins Monday and will involve a short-term water system service outage for those addresses.
The city has been adding two miles of new pipe from the Water Treatment Plant near 24th and Industrial to 12th and Prairie. Construction will likely last through the summer and could go into this upcoming fall.
