At most tribute concerts you’ll often hear audiences say if I closed my eyes it was almost as if they were right there in front of me.
Well, a sold-out crowd inside of the Emporia Granada Theatre Saturday night didn’t have to close their eyes to see the King of Pop Michael Jackson right in front of them thanks to the tremendous cast of In-Vincible: A Glorious Tribute to Michael Jackson. The nationally heralded show featured 17 musicians, dancers and vocalists putting on a high-energy combination of dance, music and entertainment choreographed by former Michael Jackson choreographer Lavelle Smith Jr. that more than paid tribute to the King of Pop but truly brought him back to life in front of audience members’ eyes.
The performance included some of Jackson’s greatest hits including Billie Jean, Man in the Mirror, Beat It and of course one of the most thrilling songs ever recorded. . .
In addition to Jackson’s solo career, the show also paid tribute to the Jackson 5 with a medley of songs including Dancing Machine, I’ll Be There and I Want You Back.
Since 2015 In-Vincible has traveled the nation receiving various accolades and recognitions including being the only Michael Jackson tribute show to receive the stamp of approval from Jackson Family patriarch Joe Jackson.
In-Vincible is just one of several exciting shows scheduled to take over the Granada in the coming months as part of the Emporia Arts Council’s Performing Arts Series. Next up on the Granada calendar will be Celtic rock group The Tartan Terrors on Saturday, March 1 at 7 pm.
