The 20th rendition of the Symphony in the Flint Hills this upcoming summer will also be the last in event history.
Organizers are calling the June 14 event at Evans Family Ranch in Chase County “the grand finale.” Board Chair Mary Ice says the event started as a way to deepen both the knowledge and appreciation of the tallgrass prairie in the Flint Hills. The anniversary, Ice says, now gives organizers a chance to see how far that effort has progressed while giving a glimpse into future opportunities.
Along with announcing the event’s finale status, organizer say Kansas native and country singer/songwriter Logan Mize will be the featured performer. Mize will perform shortly after the Kansas City Symphony concludes its performance.
Tickets for the final Symphony in the Flint Hills go on sale at 10 am March 1 through symphonyintheflinthills.org or 620-273-8955.
