Two area school districts appear close to choosing their next chief administrators.
USD 284 Chase County has candidate interviews Wednesday and Thursday with the upcoming retirement of Glenna Grinstead in June. Wednesday’s interview, including a building tour and special executive session, is with Altoona-Midway Superintendent John West, who has held that position since 2022.
A planned interview Tuesday was canceled. The board could meet as soon as Friday to make its choice.
USD 421 has a meeting Thursday for a non-elected personnel executive session. The district has already interviewed current USD 432 Victoria superintendent Kimberly Woolf. USD 421 is finding a new superintendent after reaching a separation agreement with prior district leader Brad Marcotte earlier this year.
