Sub-State brackets have been released for Class 1A-DI and 1A-DII.
In Class 1A-DI, area teams are either a part of the Centralia region or the Canton-Galva region. Area schools in Class 1A-DII are a part of the McPherson-Central Christian region.
In the Canton-Galva region on the boys side, Olpe is the No. 1 seed and has a first-round bye. The Eagles will play the winner between Flinthills and Canton-Galva at 7 p.m. on March 3 at Olpe. Flinthills and Canton-Galva will meet at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The 5-12 matchup features a pair of Lyon County League schools with Madison hosting Northern Heights at 7 p.m. Tuesday. On the girls side, Olpe is the No. 3 seed and has a first-round bye. The Lady Eagles will play the winner between Colony-Crest and Sedan at 7 p.m. on March 1 in Olpe. Crest and Sedan play their quarterfinal at 7 p.m. Monday. Madison is the No. 4 seed and has a first-round bye and will face the winner between Goessel and Northern Heights at 7 p.m. on March 1 in Madison. Goessel and Northern Heights play their quarterfinal on Monday at 7 p.m.
In the Centralia region on the girls side, Burlingame is the No. 11 seed and will travel to Wakefield for a 7 p.m. quarterfinal on Monday. On the boys side, Burlingame is the No. 2 seed and earned a first round bye. The Bearcats will play on March 3 at 7 p.m. at home against the winner between Troy and Rock Hills, which will be played on Tuesday.
In the McPherson-Central Christian region on the boys side, Hartford is the No. 2 seed and will play the winner between Peabody-Burns and St. Paul on March 3 at 7 p.m. at Hartford. Lebo is the No. 3 seed and will play the winner between Marais des Cygnes Valley and Caldwell at 7 p.m. March 3 at Lebo. The MdCV and Caldwell quarterfinal is to be announced, with the girls matchup between the two teams scheduled for Monday with a time to be announced. Hartford is the No. 4 seed on the girls side and will face St. Paul at 7 p.m. on March 1 in Hartford. Lebo is the No. 2 seed on the girls side and has a first-round bye and will play the winner of the 7-10 matchup between Waverly and Southern Coffey County at 7 p.m. March 1 in Lebo. Waverly and SCC meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Waverly. Waverly is the No. 9 seed on the boys side and will travel to Chetopa for a 7 p.m. quarterfinal on Tuesday.
Sub-State brackets for Classes 2A and 3A will be released on Saturday. Class 5A will have theirs released on March 1.
The first scheduled sub-state game to be carried on Country 101.7 FM will be Tuesday as Northern Heights travels to Madison.
