The Emporia High boys bowling team claimed the Centennial League Championship on Friday at Junction City.
The Spartans won their first league title since 2015 with a 3,170, 44 better than Hayden. Caydrick Crouch led Emporia High with a second place finish with a 672. Michael Wendling was fifth with a 613. Colton Swift was 12th with a 571. Nate Green was 15th with a 538. Morgan Liggett finished 20th with a 509. Crouch and Wendling 1st-team All-Centennial. Swift 2nd steam and Green honorable mention.
The Lady Spartans finished fourth with a 2,485. Taylor McKay finished seventh with a 510 series. Amelia Lowery was 12th with a 487. Kaylee Gilliland was 16th with a 453. Sophia Hill was 17th with a 448. McKay and Lowery are 2nd team All-League while Gilliland and Hill are honorable mention.
Emporia High hosts a meet Monday before hosting regionals on Tuesday.
