The city of Emporia had a hiccup with its phone service Friday morning.
Calls were redirected fo the City/Lyon County main line for several hours. IT staff worked to resolve issues and had service back to normal shortly before 10 am.
Word on what caused the outage is pending.

If you’re trying to call Emporia city offices, you won’t get there directly — at least, not yet.
Phone lines are currently out of service, so calls are getting redirected to the City/Lyon County main line. The city IT staff is working to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
