Greenwood County deputies say a short foot chase in Madison led to the arrests of two people late last week.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to serve an arrest warrant in Madison, but one person allegedly fled on foot from the Madison Casey’s and was arrested at an unspecified location.
Deputies say they arrested Dustin Newport on suspicion of escape from custody, interference with law enforcement and an active arrest warrant. Ashton Clepper was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing apprehension and interference with law enforcement.
Formal charges are currently pending against both individuals.
