The Emporia State Softball team won twice at the Washburn Invitational Monday. The Lady Hornets dominated Northern State in a 16-3 run rule in five innings to start Monday afternoon. ESU pounded out 16 hits in the game and capped off the run rule with a seven-run fifth inning. ESU had to rally to beat Minot State in their second game of the day. After the Beavers scored two in the bottom of the first to take the lead, MSU wouldn’t score again. A Haley Garnett home run got ESU on the board in the third and Kinsey Perine went yard down the left field line in the top of the seventh to put ESU in front. The Lady Hornets (9-6) play their last two games of the event Tuesday beginning at noon.
