Madison used a strong first half, to withstand a late Northern Heights push to win 51-44.
Octavian Dean scored 13 first half points, that aided Madison to a 31-15 halftime score. The lead would balloon too as much as 19 before Northern Heights surged back.
Northern Heights was able to trim the margin to as small as six, much in part from 11 points in the fourth quarter by Gabe Beck.
Dean finished the night with 21 to lead all scorers, while Beck led Northern Heights with 16.
Madison’s head coach Alex McNeal said it may not have been the prettiest but his team made enough plays to survive and advance.
Northern Heights concludes their season at 3-16, while Madison is now at 15-6 and will travel to Central Burden on Monday.
