Evergy is restoring power to residents affected by a crash near Hamilton on Friday.
Evergy Senior Communications Manager Courtney Lewis says a large vehicle hit a utility pole around 10 am. The incident damaged critical equipment. The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says a truck was leaving Hamilton High School when it hit a pole.
Evergy has de-energized a substation feeding power to Hamilton and nearby areas as part of repairs that might last until mid-afternoon Friday.
About 300 customers are affected.
