Visit Emporia is part of a brand-new tourism effort connecting other locations in southeast Kansas.
The Freedom and Fried Chicken Trail was unveiled in mid-February, invilving Visit Emporia, Visit Fort Scott and Explore Crawford County. Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeanine McKenna says part of the new tourism effort is obvious — some of the state’s best fried chicken — but part is also a new chance to see some places of interest.
Olpe Chicken House is on the chicken restaurant list along with restaurants in Bronson, Fort Scott, Frontenac, Girard, Mulberry and Pittsburg.
