Area law enforcement agencies are warning of warranty registration scam now apparently underway.
The Coffey County Sheriff’s Office says residents are receiving notices allegedly from the Register of Deeds Office, saying people have a lapse in their coverage and they need to call a toll-free number to re-register and continue their protection.
The Sheriff’s Office says the mailing is not from the Register of Deeds and should be ignored.
