Reports of a possible structure fire in north Emporia turned out not to be the case Wednesday.
Fireighters from Emporia, Americus and Olpe responded to 1701 Hammond shortly before 8 am after concerns about fire inside a townhome. However, Emporia Fire says the reported smoke turned out to be haze from a burned-out fan.
No injuries or other issues were reported.

Several Lyon County fire departments have been called to the scene of a possible structure fire Wednesday morning.
Emporia, Americus and Olpe were sent to 1701 Hammond shortly after 7:45 am.
