For the second consecutive year, and third time overall, Emporia Main Street is asking for your vote to help them secure the title of Best Main Street in America.
Voting for the USA Today Reader’s Choice 10Best Main Street In America competition opened at noon Monday and will continue through 11:59 am April 7th. Once again, Emporia Main Street is amongst the 20 nominees for the title after finishing in second place last year and finishing in first back in 2016.
Main Street Director Casey Woods says that after a long waiting period between the 2016 and 2024 nominations, being included on the list in back-to-back years says a lot about the constant work and evolution of Main Street over the last near-decade.
While the competition shines a spotlight on Main Street specifically, Woods says the true recognition for this nomination should go to the entire Emporia community which has played an instrumental role in Main Street’s success over the years.
Residents can vote for their favorite Main Street once per day per device. For more information on the USA Today 10Best competition visit USAToday.com or by clicking here.
While this is the third overall nomination for Emporia Main Street, it is the fourth overall for the city of Emporia and the third in the last two years as The Sweet Granada was included in the 10Best Candy Stores competition last year finishing second.
