Emporia State women’s basketball coach Brian Ostermann has announced the addition of Vanessa Coleman to his roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season. The 5-10 senior forward from Tulsa, Okla. is set to play in the Oklahoma Class 6A State Tournament Tuesday where she’ll lead Tulsa Union against Norman High School. Ostermann had previously announced the signing of Elysa Martinez, a 5-5 guard transfer from Cowley County CC who previously played for ESU associate head coach John Ishee at Howard College. Also in the class is Jada Smith, a 6-0 guard from Grandview, Mo. who averaged 15.0 ppg as a junior at Grandview High School last season. Emporia State finished 10-19 in 2024-25 with a 5-14 record in MIAA play.
