A pretrial hearing is coming next month for a man accused of sexual exploitation in a Lyon County criminal case.
Victor Orozco-Guzman, age 23, had a preliminary hearing Monday. As part of that hearing, two rape charges were dropped without prejudice, meaning they can be refiled.
Orozco-Guzman still faces eight total counts, including two of exploitation — one for production and one for possession — and single counts of contributing to a child’s misconduct, criminal deprivation of a vehicle and possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Charges follow an alleged incident in November 2024, allegedly involving a child between ages 14-18.
The next hearing in the case is April 3.
