Portions of the KVOE listening area are now under a fire weather watch, which goes into effect at the end of the week.
The watch affects Chase and Greenwood counties from 10 am to 8 pm Friday. The watch reflects extreme fire conditions resulting from high winds, possibly as high as 50-55 mph at times, dry conditions and low relative humidity levels.
Burning is discouraged in the affected counties as any fires that develop or become out of control could spread rapidly. Stay tuned to KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media for more weather updates as they develop.
