It’s been busy at Abundant Harvest in recent months according to Director Josh Graves during a recent interview with KVOE News.
Graves adds that over the last year, Abundant Harvest has been able to serve between 225 to 250 families per week and the need is continuing to rise. With that in mind, Graves announced during KVOE’s Morning Show Monday the local non-profit is once again into its now annual Emporia Anti-Hunger Challenge fundraiser to help cover the cost of providing free food to those in need over the year.
The goal of the fundraiser is $65,000 and those interested in donating have a few ways to do so. Residents can log on to the Abundant Harvest website and make a one-time donation or they can become a monthly partner.
Regardless of the route they choose, Graves says donors will be entered into a drawing later this month for a special prize.
The Anti-Hunger Challenge began in 2022 after it was announced that the Feinstein Challenge, which had helped to generate between $60,000 to $65,000 for the Emporia Rescue Mission for at least 15 years, had gone away.
