Late March and all of April are busy for the Chase County Old School Development District, and organizers are hoping residents turn out for a lengthy list of community activities during that time.
After the monthly book club meeting March 20, the group has its Wine, Food, Friends and Fun event March 22. This is a fundraiser, involving a wine-and-food pairing event with the help of Connie Slater, Vicky Lyon and Mulready’s Pub co-owner Meg Worthing. Cost is $40 a person or $200 for a table of six. Seating is limited and registrations are needed by Saturday.
Following that is a milestone event for the Development District. Organizer Lee Anne Coester says there will be an open house for new apartments and the Community Center in Cottonwood Falls on March 25.
And there are more activities in April. The schedule includes a Rug Hookers exhibit and demonstrations April 5-6, the monthly book club meeting April 17 and a cake decorating class April 26.
