After a busy afternoon regarding grass fires Tuesday, Emporia Fire put out one grass fire and helped Americus with another fire Wednesday.
Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says crews handled a small fire in the 1700 block of Road 175 just east of Emporia. The incident was reported shortly before 4 pm and the fire was contained before burning one acre of property.
Emporia Fire also served as mutual aid on a grass fire at 875 Road 240, about two miles east of Americus and five miles north of Emporia, after the fire developed shortly before 12:30 pm.
Additional details are pending with both incidents.
