Annual fundraising efforts are now underway for the Jayhawk Area Council of Scouting America.
Fundraising efforts officially kicked off with the Friends of Scouting breakfast at Emporia’s Bowyer Community Building. The featured speaker, City Manager and Eagle Scout alum Trey Cocking, says Scouting was vital for setting his career path going forward — and fundraising will open up a lot of opportunities for current and future Scouts.
The Jayhawk Area Council operates summer camp, weekend activities and merit badge days throughout the year. It also operates a 340-acre camping area near Lake Perry.
Proceeds will raise funds for local Scouting America programs areawide. More information about the campaign and area Scouting opportunities is online at JayhawkCouncil.org.
