Law enforcement from several area counties and the Kansas Highway Patrol were allegedly involved in a vehicle pursuit that spent much of its time in Greenwood County earlier this week.
The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office says the chase developed just after midnight Thursday in Butler County, with Greenwood County deputies joining the pursuit over 10 miles southwest of Madison. The chase, including deputies and at least one trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol, continued into the Madison city limits, before a Lyon County deputy successfuly deployed spike strips jsut west of the town. The suspect then went onto a dead-end road near Madison, stopped and was arrested without further incident.
The name of the suspect is currently not being released, and information about how the incident started is currently unavailable. Formal charges are currently pending.
