The Emporia State softball team wrapped up their Florida trip Sunday going 5-0 in The Spring Games over the weekend. The Lady Hornets scored all four runs in the bottom of the sixth in a 4-3 victory over Shepherd in their first game Saturday. Julianna De Luna and Haley Garnett each delivered two-run singles as ESU came from 3-0 down to take the win. Jordan Harrison scattered nine hits for a complete-game victory while striking out eight. The Lady Hornet bats were blasting in their second game Saturday as they blew out Wayne State College 12-0 in five innings. ESU scored three in the first before tearing the game open with a seven-run third inning. Sydney Wagner drove in two on a triple and Brooke Flewelling nailed a two-run homer. Gracie Rabe picked up a five-inning complete game victory. E-State returned for one game Sunday morning and run ruled Saint Michaels 8-0. Every Lady Hornet starter had a hit or scored a run in the game as ESU took command of the game with a four-run fifth inning. One last game scheduled for Sunday was cancelled due to weather. ESU (21-9, 2-2 MIAA) takes a seven-game winning streak into Saturday’s resumption of MIAA play on the road at Missouri Southern.
