Sentencing is coming next month for a woman who allegedly killed a one-time Emporia man in a hit-and-run crash last summer.
Peyton Allart, now 20, was initially charged with failing to stop at a wreck where the reasonably known result was death, as well as possessing liquor by a minor and transporting an open container of alcohol. On Friday, Allart pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. The alcohol-related counts have been dismissed.
The wreck in Wichita happened in late June 2024 and killed Jaz Brooks, a passenger in the car hit by Allart.
Sentencing is currently set for April 25.
