Downtown Emporia was quite a bit greener than normal for annual Saint Patrick’s Day festivities on Saturday.
About 30 parade entries graced the 30th annual parade in somewhat chilly conditions, making Saint Patrick’s Day Committee member and spokesperson Barb Lowery smile.
Besides the parade, there was the now-traditional gathering at Town Royal and a pub crawl.
Activities Saturday culminate annual fundraising for the committee, and Lowery says the recent use of sponsorships and banner sales went well. Totals will be announced by late March, as will plans for distributing the proceeds.
