USD 252 Southern Lyon County Superintendent Ryan Muhlig says he’s pleased with the district’s approach to childcare as the district looks towards the end of the academic year.
Muhlig says childcare in a district setting has long been known as a pivotal way to get young learners off to a good start. Besides the education benefits, Muhlig also sees district childcare as a way to build community across all grade levels.
Audio PlayerTo help offset salaries and benefits costs, Muhlig proposed a $2 across-the-board increase in fees and meal prices during the board’s most recent meeting, and the board has decided to take that request up for review. Part of the board’s review process includes a look at other districts across the state and how they structure their enrollment, meal prices and other fees.
Separately, board members discussed upcoming summer projects. Muhlig says work will be concentrated on roof work at Hartford and Olpe.
