Ongoing dry conditions have, unfortunatelly, filled in the area map when it comes to abnormally dry conditions.
Recent reports from the US Drought Monitor had southern Chase County as drought-free for weeks, but that area filled in as part of Thursday’s update. The rest of the KVOE listening area, Lyon County included, have been abnormally dry for weeks.
Abnormally dry is the lowest level of drought on the scale, but moderate drought is now more evident in central Kansas.
