The season came to an end for Kansas men’s basketball in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a 79-72 loss to Arkansas in Providence, R. I. The teams sprinted out offensively in the first 20 minutes with the Razorbacks holding a slim 47-44 lead at the break. KU trailed by as many as 11 in the second half but went in front with less than seven minutes to go. The Jayhawks gave up a three-point lead allowing a 7-0 run when they turned it over four straight times in the span of 90 seconds and never led again. Zeke Mayo led the Jayhawks with 18 points and 4-for-5 shooting from outside the arc. Hunter Dickinson added 11 but did not score after halftime. The Jayhawks end the season 21-13, the most losses in the Bill Self era.
