Lillian Lingenfelter is seeking another term on the USD 253 Board of Education.
Lingenfelter filed for re-election with the Lyon County Clerk’s Office Monday. Lingenfelter was elected to the school board back in 2021 and currently serves as the President of the board.
A career educator currently at Burlington High School, Lingenfelter holds education degrees from both Emporia State University and American University.
Lingenfelter is the second candidate to file for election to the school board following fellow incumbent Jami Reever. The positions held by Lingenfelter, Reever and Dr. Jennifer Thomas are all up for election this year.
Thomas has yet to announce her intentions for re-election. The 2025 election cycle involves positions like City Council, City Commission, mayor and school board.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is noon June 2. If enough candidates file the primary election will take place August 5.
The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4.
