Emporia State University’s School of Applied Health Sciences now has its first permanent leader.
The university has announced the hire of Nicole Webb, who has been working in medical and/or educational settings since the mid-1990s. Currently the chair of AT Still University’s Doctor of Nursing practice program in the College of Graduate Health Studies, Webb started her medical career in 1996, serving in a variety of roles including home health and nurse practitioner. Her academic career began as a full-time faculty member at Troy University in 2007. She holds a terminal degree – Doctor of Nursing practice and is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner.
Webb says her position at ESU “offers a unique opportunity to create a collaborative environment where students, faculty and staff can thrive. I am driven by the chance to champion innovation, promote a welcoming environment and address critical challenges in our academic community. My vision is to align institutional goals with the evolving needs of our society, ensuring excellence and accessibility in education.”
The School of Applied Sciences includes programs like nursing; psychology; counselor education; and health, physical education and recreation. The 320,000-square-foot Nursing + Student Wellness Center is currently under construction and may be ready for students by the spring 2026 semester.
Webb’s announcement will be featured on KVOE’s ESU Buzz at 8:20 am Thursday.
