Greenwood County authorities and other law enforcement agencies are still looking for a man now missing for well over two years.
Kansas Missing and Unsolved says Brandon Shane Smith went missing from Elk County in early August 2022. A heavy equipment operator, certified hazardous materials instructor, farmer and equipment mechanic in his career, Smith did not renew his Commercial Driver’s License when it expired in October 2022. He had also been working at Simmons before his disappearance.
Smith was 36 when he disappeared and is now 39. He is listed as 5-foot-11, around 240 pounds, with dark brown hair and blue eyes. His hair gets curly as it gets longer. He may have a goatee or a full beard. He also lost half his left foot due to an oil rig accident in 2012.
Smith has several tattoos, including the words “Jacksyn Dayde Smith” and a sudden infant death syndrome ribbon on his upper left arm, an “ERS” tattoo in an Old English font surrounded by rosary beads and a cross down his left forearm and a skull-and-crossbones with a hard hat partially covering the words “Jessie Leaire” on his right forearm. He’s also known to wear hats and square-toed Ariat boots whenever he’s in public.
