Severe weather isn’t in our immediate forecast picture, but the National Weather Service is coming to Emporia on Tuesday to discuss severe weather readiness.
The annual storm spotter training session is at 7 pm Tuesday at the Emporia State Memorial Union Preston Family Room. These sessions provide basic lessons about storm structure, storm features, severe weather safety in several different settings and reporting procedures.
On KVOE’s Morning Show on Monday, Weather Service meteorologist Sarah Teefey says there is a lot of information provided in the meetings, including what can best be described as Radar Basics and Storm Anatomy 101.
