A criminal case alleging illegal activity like aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery and aggravated witness intimidation is now getting started in Lyon County District Court.
Johnathon Lee Ryan Burris, age 31 of Emporia, had his first court appearance Tuesday and was set for a preliminary hearing April 17. Rand Simmons was appointed as defense attorney.
Burris was arrested after an alleged incident March 20. Emporia Police have not provided more information about the case because it remains under investigation.
