There are now two job fairs available for area workers to attend early next month.
The first one is April 7 as Osage County Economic Development, Osage City and KansasWORKS have organized a Community Job Fair at the Osage City Community Building. Employees and others impacted by the upcoming closure of ORBIS the next several months are asked to attend between 10 am and noon, with the general public asked to attend between 1-3 pm. Residents can meet with representatives of local and regional businesses, learn more about careers and get both advice and support for their current situations.
ORBIS is ending all its Osage City operations between now and September, affecting about 80 staffers.
This comes right before the Emporia Stronger Job Fair to be held between 11 am and 2 pm April 8 at the Humanitarian Center. About 30 local, regional and out-of-state businesses are expected to attend. This job fair is organized by Southeast KansasWORKS and Emporia Spanish Speakers.
