There has been a plea agreement reached in one of two Lyon County drug distribution cases with hearings Wednesday.
David Pohl accepted a no-contest plea as part of a trial status hearing. Originally charged with distributing up to 100 grams of methamphetamine and possessing paraphernalia as part of an alleged incident shortly before Christmas, Pohl pleaded to one count of methamphetamine possession.
Sentencing is set for June 6. Pohl could have gone to trial as soon as this upcoming Monday.
Separately, Darrell Wayne Walker was set for a preliminary hearing April 17 as part of his first appearance Wednesday.
Walker has been charged with distributing a small amount of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of William Allen White Elementary as part of an alleged incident in late July 2024. He’s also charged with two additional counts of distributing small amounts of meth as part of alleged incidents in August and September, as well as using a cell phone to facilitate manufacture, distribution, cultivation or possession of a controlled substance.
