Newman Regional Health’s chief executive officer is listed by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of its 2025 Great Leaders in Healthcare.
Becker’s says Cathy Pimple has been a leader in several health categories, including investments into Emporia State University’s simulation hospital as part of the Nursing + Student Wellness Center now under construction on campus; investments into advanced robotics; launches of an outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation program and an internal medicine clinic; improvements to maternity care; and enhancements to workforce development among other achievements.
Pimple has led Newman Regional Health since previous CEO Bob Wright retired in 2023. Earlier this year, Newman Regional finalized a strategic partnership with LMH Health and University of Kansas Health System as Stormont Vail is nearing a final zoning decision from the Emporia City Commission about moving its staff and services from Newman Regional’s Medical Arts building to a currently-unbuilt facility near Roads 180 and G.
Becker’s is a medical trade publication and online presence that combines its own research with US News and World Report rankings and government data. It says it developed its list of leaders based on nominations and educational research. It also says leaders cannot pay to be included. Honorees are mentioned for work with digital technology, care delivery models and enhanced patient and provider experiences.
