Work is underway to create a special survey that could qualify the city of Emporia for significant grant funding.
The city is partnering with Governmental Assistance Services to develop a survey for low-to-moderate-income residents. Households will be randomly selected to participate and will be asked questions including the number of people in their households as well as combined annual household income.
Governmental Assistance Services personnel will have official city contractor badges as they go around town. Depending on the feedback, the city could qualify for up to $800,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding.
