The Friends of the Emporia Public Library are in search for volunteers ahead of its spring book sale beginning this week.
The sale begins Friday at 618 Mechanic for members only from 4 to 6 p.m. while the sale opens to the public on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friends of the Library Spokesperson Dee Schwinn says specialized training for new volunteers is available prior to sale beginning.
Audio PlayerAs in the past, the spring sale will offer a variety of different selections. Schwinn says options will include mystery, children’s, romance, and western. Schwinn says they’ve also have made tweaks to make things different than previous sales.
The sale runs through Wednesday with hours on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday will be the first of three bag day sales from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with books going for $10 per bag. Tuesday will have books at $5 a bag from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The overall sale will close at noon Wednesday with books at $2 per bag.
