It has become “the fish fry” for north Lyon County residents, and it’s on the community calendar for Saturday.
The North Lyon County Youth Association’s fish fry will mark its 25th year with the now-traditional menu, including — yes, fish — as well as chicken, hush pupppies, baked beans, cole slaw and homemade desserts. And it’s all-you-can-eat for a suggested donation.
Board President Kylie DeDonder, a guest on KVOE’s Morning Show on Thursday, says fundraising will again be bolstered by a silent auction.
Audio PlayerThe fish fry typically helps to offset operating costs for the Youth Association, but those costs are likely to increase significantly after a significant hailstorm March 27. DeDonder says the window damage, where almost all the south-facing windows were blown out by hail as big as eggs, was obvious. Other damage has now surfaced.
Audio PlayerThe fish fry goes from 11 am to 7 pm. Attendees are asked to use the east entrance.
