Some frosty air is in place to start the week.
Freeze warnings have been posted for Lyon and all surrounding counties until 9 am Monday. A freeze watch affects Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties from 12-9 am Tuesday.
Overnight temperatures could be just above freezing in Emporia on Monday and right at freezing Tuesday, although temperatures could go below freezing in outlying areas. Frost is likely, even if overnight lows stay slightly above freezing.
Temperatures below 32 degrees will damage sensitive plants, so residents are advised to either bring those inside or cover them as best as possible.

Chilly conditions are on tap for the KVOE listening area and much of the Central Plains to start the week.
In fact, all area counties are under a freeze warning early Monday:
*Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties from 1-9 am
*Chase and Greenwood counties from 2-9 am.
Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties are in a freeze watch from 1-9 am Tuesday as well.
Emporia’s lows will be at freezing both early Monday and Tuesday, and temperatures could be lower in outlying areas both mornings. Frost will be commonplace areawide as temperatures dip into the low 30s.
Temperatures this low, especially after several weeks of above-freezing low temperatures, will damage sensitive plants. Residents are encouraged to either move plants indoors or cover them to the best of their abilities.
