Emporia Fire and the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to a reported vehicle fire early Sunday morning.
Authorities were dispatched to Interstate 35 mile marker 130, near the Merchant Street exit, just after midnight after a report of a semi on fire. Early indications are the brakes overheated.
A trooper and the truck driver had the fire out as Emporia Fire arrived. There were no injuries and no apparent damage to the load.
