Emporia’s second in-person job fair in four months is coming Tuesday.
The Emporia Stronger Job Fair is set for 11 am to 2 pm at the Humanitarian Center. Veterans seeking to make connections with potential employers are encouraged to attend between 11-11:30 am.
As many as 30 local, regional and out-of-state businesses will line the main first-floor hallway inside the building. The job fair is organized by Southeast KansasWORKS and Emporia Spanish Speakers.
This follows the Emporia Strong Jobs and Resource Fair in early January after Tyson and Holiday Resort announced the end of their local operations in December.
Meanwhile, Osage City has its Community Job Fair from 10 am to 3 pm Monday. Members of the general public seeking jobs can attend from 1-3 pm, while the 10 am-noon window is reserved for Orbis employees either already laid off or soon to be without work as the company ends its operations in Osage County.
The job fair is at the Osage City Community Building and is organized by KansasWORKS, Osage City government and Osage County Economic Development.
