The lead gift of the $1.3 million in renovations of $650,000 is in honor of Mike Turnbull. Turnbull Foundation Board Member and former Emporia State player Josh Stratman says putting Turnbull’s name on the field would mean the world to him and being able to hold activities at the faculty that Turnbull would be proud of hosting.
The baseball field had recently been named Glennen Field, in honor of Dr. Robert Glennen, Emporia State’s president from 1985 to 1997.
Saturday’s game will also be broadcasted on the flagship station of the Hornet Sports Network, Mix 104.9. Pregame will begin at 1:50 p.m. with first pitch at 2 p.m.
