Area residents, regardless of background, are encouraged to attend the dedication of the Latino Veterans Memorial on Saturday.
On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia recently, Brown Express Club spokesman Gilbert Rodriguez said this culminates a better than two-year effort. He says there is a deep sense of pride in this work.

Audio PlayerActivities begin at noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Cemetery for the Latino Veterans Memorial dedication. Both Rodriguez and Intercultural Center Director Michael Torres thanked Virginia Dold for her support and Sacred Heart Church for giving the space for the memorial. Overlapping the dedication will be lunch at Casa Ramos from 1-3 pm.
