Lyon County’s ballot for elections later this year continues to fill out, albeit slowly at this time.
Malonne Davies has filed for re-election as Reading’s mayor. She is currently the only candidate for that position in Reading, but she joins City Council incumbents Heather Jones and Mary Ann Newton as recently filing for their posts.
Separately, Allen City Council member Kathy Jackson has filed for re-election. At this time, she is the only candidate for that board.
If there are enough candidates, the primary election is Aug. 5. The general election is Nov. 4. The filing and withdrawal deadline is at noon June 2. This year’s elections revolve around mayor, City Council, City Commission and school board positions.
