The Emporia High softball team was swept by Junction City on Friday, 10-0 and 7-1.
In game one, the Blue Jays scored one in the first, four in the third and five in the fifth to win via run-rule. Emporia High was held to two hits in the game, one a triple from Ryane Howe. Alivia Barrett went 4.2 innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits and six strikeouts. In game two, Junction City scored four in the first and never looked back. Emporia High got its lone run in the second on an error. The Blue Jays scored two in the second and one in the fourth. Barrett went the distance,e allowing seven runs on 11 hits and two strikeouts. Atlyn Heffron went 2-for-3 at the plate.
In the doubleheader, Barrett recorded her 200th career strikeout. Emporia High (4-8, 0-4 Centennial) is off until April 22 when it travels to McPherson for a quad.
