Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a potential threat at Americus Elementary School Friday.
According to Lyon County Detective Eric Williams, deputies were notified of threats made by an unnamed student against the school and students. After speaking with building administration, the parents of the student and attempting to speak with the student who allegedly made the threats, deputies determined there was no active threat to the school, student body, or faculty.
The unnamed student was removed from the facility and grounds by their parents. The investigation is ongoing through the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
