Jury trial is tentatively ahead this month in the case of a man accused in Lyon County District Court of rape, aggravated human trafficking and other charges.
Following a hearing in Emporia on Friday, Russell Paul Patterson Jr is set for a trial status hearing April 23 and a week-long trial to tentatively start April 28.
Patterson was arrested in August 2024 and subsequently charged with rape, trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of a child after an alleged incident in late July 2024. The alleged victim was no older than 17 years of age at the time of the alleged incident.
